Shared Parental Leave and Pay

Draft regulations have been put before Parliament to make changes to the way eligible employees, who are parents of children, can take parental leave and pay.

If these regulations are approved, eligible parents of children due to be born or adopted on or after 5th April 2015, will be entitled to share up to 50 weeks’ maternity leave and 37 weeks’ pay with their partner.

This has the advantage of enabling the parents to maintain a strong link to their workplace.

Further updates will be posted to the Woodfines website as they are announced.
