Woodfines Solicitors has this week supported the first session of the Anglia Law School’s Law Clinic, based at Anglia Ruskin University. Students were able to shadow Woodfines Partner, Clare Pilsworth, as legal advice was provided to those who needed it from the local community.
The Law Clinic will be providing appointments for those in need of free and independent legal advice in family law matters from across Cambridge. Woodfines have provided support in the set up of this initiative, and are proud to have helped to facilitate the first session which also provides an invaluable opportunity for the University’s law students to work on real-life cases, under the supervision of qualified solicitors.
Clare Pilsworth, Family Law Partner at Woodfines, said: “This is a fantastic cause to be involved with – both for enabling greater access to legal services for those in need of it and who may not be able to access family law advice since funding cuts were introduced by the Government, and for the students, who have an excellent facility for learning and personal development via the Law Clinic. We look forward to seeing it flourish further.”
