In recent years, we have been delighted to support charitable causes and events including:
Annual Charity Golf Day
Woodfines hosts an annual Golf Day which raises money for local good causes. In 2016, the event supported the Bedford Daycare Hospice.
In 2015, the event raised £2,300 for Sue Ryder St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger.
In 2014, the Golf Day raised £2,255 for local charity, Sports Traider. Woodfines also supports the Sports Traider 100 Club which provides support to disabled youngsters.
Cambridge Music Concert
In 2014, over 100 guests enjoyed a music performance by the King's Men at Girton College in Cambridge, which raised over £2,500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
MK Dons Sport & Education Trust
Woodfines is a Friend of the MK Dons' Sport & Education Trust which raises vital funds that enable the Trust to continue its task of delivering its key community and educational streams across the local region.
Woodfines is a proud sponsor of Home-Start, one of the UK’s leading family support charities. All round the country local schemes recruit and train volunteers to support local families with young children at home. The charity helps families with diverse issues such as isolation, postnatal illness, multiple births, disability, bereavement or those who are just finding parenting a struggle.
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life
In June 2014, members of Woodfines’ Bedford office took part in Cancer Resarch UK’s Race for Life event in Bedford, raising over £1,600 to help fight cancer.
The team decided to 'up the stakes' in 2016, and instead tackled Cancer Research UK's 'Pretty Muddy' 5k obstacle course. Over £2,200 was raised for the charity.
Star Club Juniors
Woodfines are active sponsors of the Star Club’s Junior Rowing programme.
Sue Ryder St John's Hospice
We continue to support Sue Ryder in Bedfordshire, and participated in the 2014 Bedford River Festival and Sue Ryder St John's Summer Fete where our 'Sponge a Solicitor' attraction proved very popular with over 900 sponges thrown!
In 2016, we again attended the Bedford River Festival in aid of the hospice, where our pitch featured acoustic music and children's facepainting, as well as a giant 'Connect 4' challenge against our lawyers. We also had a wish tree, where visitors could make a wish to support the work of St John's Hospice and their patients, or a wish of their own, and hang it on the tree to come true.

Tour de France celebrations
To celebrate Stage 3 of the 2014 Tour De France starting in Cambridge, Woodfines hosted a breakfast and lunch to allow guests to view the activities and start of the race as it passed by. The event raised over £1,600 for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
Sponsorship of local rugby star, Hollie Fraser
Woodfines sponsored Olney RFC’s Hollie Fraser to travel to New Zealand to play for the newly formed North Otago RFU. You can read more here.
Sponsorship of Local Dance Company
In 2016, we lent our support to Bedford's Dance2, the longest running dance company in Bedfordshire, who were selected to represent the Eastern region at the UK’s biggest youth dance festival run by Youth Dance England, and needed sponsorship to help get them to the event. In 2017, we will be sponsoring Spotlight Theatre's production of 'Legally Blonde'. The theatre company is a non-profit making community-based performing arts group, committed to producing outstanding musical theatre for young people in the Cambridgeshire area.
