Karl Dembicki, Partner in Woodfines’ Cambridge office and specialist in the firm’s Wills and Probate team, has recently completed the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients, achieving the highest score of any candidate taking the certificate at that time globally.
As a result, he has been awarded the STEP Worldwide Excellence Award for the certificate, which celebrates the top scorers across all STEP exams across the world.
The certificate, which is offered by STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), is for those in the legal profession who work with vulnerable clients, and provides a comprehensive programme for advising clients with mental or physical incapacity and the often complex legal issues that arise. It is designed to bring together all the knowledge which the qualified legal professional needs in order to help vulnerable clients and their families to an effective and sympathetic legal outcome.
Karl says that he chose to do the course as it pulled together current best practice and professional standards in a way that will continue to enable him to provide the highest level of service to the most vulnerable individuals.
Karl now intends to use his worldwide-leading skills to support the vulnerable clients which Woodfines advises in matters such as Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection and Probate administration.
