The Ministry of Justice has today announced that court fees for divorce cases will rise from Monday to £550 per case, from £410. This 34% increase in fees comes despite opposition from family lawyers, including the team at Woodfines Solicitors.
Head of our Family Law department, John Egan, said: “We are disappointed that the MoJ has chosen to increase fees at a time when there are so many other cuts taking place for people. We hope that it will not leave people in tough situations, and urge them to discuss their options with us should they find themselves in difficulty.”
