During this year's Bedford River Festival, local lawyers from Woodfines Solicitors on St Cuthbert's Street will be taking their places behind the stocks to have wet sponges thrown at them by members of the public in aid of Sue Ryder St John's Hospice.
Senior Partner, Mike Cox, said: "I'm not especially looking forward to having wet sponges thrown at me, so I am hoping that the people of Bedford have a bad aim! We look forward to our fundraising raising a smile from passers-by and raising a great deal for St John's Hospice."
Partners and solicitors from the law firm have volunteered their time to allow visitors to the River Festival to give them a soaking in order to raise much-needed funds to support the hospice in Moggerhanger. To take your aim with a soaked sponge, visit their marquee between the Embankment and Russell Park (close to bridges 3 and 4) on both Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July.
