Woodfines Solicitors are proud to have supported the Tibbs Demenntia Foundation by sponsoring their Music 4 Memory event. The project supports families living with dementia in the Potton area.
Potton Music 4 Memory Potton offers a weekly creative space for people to meet, and share in a supported and encouraging environment. Sarah Russell, CEO of Tibbs Dementia Foundation said “People with dementia can experience difficulty with verbal communication and this can lead to isolation and social withdrawal. Music 4 Memory offers alternative means of expression through music especially through singing and dancing and this helps people to re connect, feel valued and validated”.
Music 4 Memory is also about having fun, trying new experiences and enjoying a sense of achievement through new challenges. Some of the Potton Music 4 Memory group are preparing to go to The Royal Festival Hall to meet members of the Philharmonia Orchestra and to be part of the wider Tibbs Dementia Foundations ongoing collaboration project ‘Hear and Now’.
One participant said “Being part of Potton Music 4 Memory is the highlight of my week, we have such a lot of fun and there’s always laughter. Thank you so much to Woodfines for supporting us and helping me to make new friends and my life a happier one”.
