Divorce proceedings can sometimes feel a daunting prospect. At Woodfines we can take you through the process without the need to attend our offices and for a fixed fee price of £275 (+vat) plus the court fees (currently £385) assuming that matters proceed on an undefended basis and there are no difficulties in your spouse acknowledging the papers when they are received.

What do you need to do?

To start divorce proceedings, please download and complete the form ‘Online Fixed Fee Divorce Form’. You can fill this in on a computer or by hand. You will also need to read the Divorce Proceedings document to get a better understanding of the process, and, if you have children, you will also need to complete the ‘Arrangements for Children’ form.

Once the relevant forms are complete, please send them by post to:

You will also need to send a copy of your marriage certificate and a cheque for £330 (£275 fee + vat at 20%) to the above address. Please note that your divorce will not begin to be processed until full payment is received. We are also required by law to obtain proof of your identity. By sending these forms, you acknowledge that further payment may be required if there are complications or further requirements needed in order to action your divorce. If this happens, these will be discussed with you by a solicitor in advance.
